New research is hard to keep up with (even for a scientist!). I’ll share some of my favorite new articles in “What’s New In Science” (WNIS). You can find new research summarized here, from groundbreaking genetic discoveries to new treatments and clinical breakthroughs on chronic illnesses.

“What’s New in Science” updates will include summaries of articles and links to read more from publications related to EDS, POTS, MCAS, Chronic Pain, Long COVID, ME/CFS, scientific techniques, new drugs on the market & more. This is a special feature of the paid subscription (new subscribers will get access to all previous paid content too).

September 15, 2024 - This summary of WNIS is focused on Eagle Syndrome. Commonly discussed in the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and chronic illness community, Eagle Syndrome is a condition that is caused by the elongation of the styloid process (a small, pointed bone just below the ear) or calcification of the stylohyoid ligament. This can compress nearby structures, such as blood vessels or nerves, leading to various symptoms.
